Many of the steel buildings that are being constructed in the area of Texas that I live in are using Concrete Stain Colors on not only their garage floor, but the rest of the floors in the construction as well. Steel buildings are now being used not just for factories and manufacturing facilities, but for homes. The buildings are durable and can be constructed either very minimalist or elaborate, having either one or two stories.
Concrete Stain Colors are a great option for people who want minimal care flooring in their homes. Once a concrete floor is poured and set, lines can be scored in it that can make the floor resemble tiles, or stones or wood shapes. Once the floor is scored, the Concrete Stain Color is applied. After the stain is applied, a clear coat is added. If you are using concrete stain on your garage floor, it would be best not to score the floor, but keep it smooth. The scored lines would be a difficult place from which to remove oil and other debris.
There are a couple of different types of concrete stain, and benefits to both. There are acid base and color base methods. The acid base method is one in which the color leeches down into the concrete and stains it permanently. The color base method basically just adheres to the surface of the concrete, and it can be changed if you desire. Neither method is better than the other, it just depends on whether you know the color you stain your house or garage floor will be a temporary one or a permanent one. There are many colors to choose from and patterns you can replicate, such as wood or tile, with just a little practice and a little patience. Both methods require sealers on top of the application.
